Summer recapish

Since the delay has been so long I will briefly talk about some things I've done and then perhaps elaborate more at some point.

A while ago now:
-Raced the Chippewa Valley Firecracker 500, got fourth out of 20 something, felt good, 37th overall out of 200 something. Lauren got 9th out of 12 in the race too, sweet!

-My dad came home and I got to hang out with him for a while. It was good, don't see him too often.

-Lauren went to horse show in Mauston, my uncle and cousin came to watch.

Slightly more recently:

-Lauren got me cowboy boots for my birthday!!

-Lauren's parents came to visit for a day on their way to the cities.

-I got a new car!! 2009 Mazda 3, awesome car!!

Really recently:
-Went up to Lauren's cabin for last week.

-Lauren and I got engaged!!

-Seu, our puppy, found a new rock that he really likes but it's way too big for him to pick up, dang funny.

-Team for the 24 hour race fell apart. Lame! Bigtime Lame!!

Predictions for the near future:
-Will go back to my Dad's tomorrow

-Going to move to Houston on tuesday, maybe monday night...

Houston and back in a day

Tuesday I went to Houston to tour some houses for rent. I started in the cities and flew through Atlanta to meet Stony, the real estate lady. She toured me around six different houses. The first and second were pretty nice with small back yards. The third turned out to be my favorite. A little more expensive but quite nice. The fourth and fifth houses were ruled out almost immediately. Both had a funky smell and weren't too clean and not really finished off. They were both pretty nice house layouts and could be nice though. The sixth and final house was the most expensive but it was super nice and very well finished with a big gated yard but I thought it was a little more than what we needed, at least to start in. I'll post pictures when I figure out which one we are going to live in.

Our puppy, Sue, is getting pretty big and he is coming along quite well. He sits and is house trained pretty well.

I'll also post pictures of the puppy when I have them.

Graduation and Puppy

Graduation was last Saturday and the parents were in town from Wisconsin. Since I don't "officially" graduate until August I wasn't overly excited about it. It was pretty good and didn't take too long so that was nice. The ceremony was nice and there was barbecue after so that was a definite plus.

Beyond graduation the exciting news is that Lauren picked up the new puppy the we named pseu, after pseudo after pseudotachylite which is a sweet rock. He's really friendly and we've already taken him on a pretty long walk, I think he's learning to walk on a leash pretty quickly. We also taught him to go up and down stairs. He seems to be smart, we'll start with 'sit'. Trying to get him to not chew on everything.

He's an 8 week old Australian Shepherd.

Weekend Home

Last weekend a good high school friend of mine got married so Lauren and I ventured back to Wisconsin for his wedding. The flight home was quite exciting and yet a little irritating. It started in Dallas when the plane I was on got in with plenty of time to make my next flight but we had to sit at the gate until a crew could come and dock us. Was it that they didn't know we were coming? "Oh, look! A plane! What's that doing here!?!"

So after we finally got unloaded I had to run to my next flight, on the other side of the airport. I got to the gate and everything was closed up. Not a good sign. Apparently I looked pretty mad because a lady rushed over and asked my name and where I had been and why I was late. After clarifying that I had run from my other flight she decided she could still get me onto the plane. Very nice lady! Then we waited at the gate for about twenty minutes until maintenance papers cleared...

The wedding was great though and the weather was cool (50's), it was great. Seeing some old high school friends and catching up a little with what they are all up to was nice.

Sunday was Mother's Day so I stopped in to see my Grandma but she wasn't feeling well so I ate lunch with Lauren, Grandpa, and my uncle. And then we had homemade ice cream. Delectable!

After lunch we went and spent time with my Mom and sister and her kids for dinner and gave my nephew a brand new kazoo, harmonica, and some squirt guns. Evil, I know.

Monday brought early flights at six in the morning and then meeting the new puppy.

This sunday is the last TMBRA race and Lauren's first race ever, exciting.
